The Goodnews Bay Mining Company Collection consists of correspondence, technical reports, and photographs concerning the platinum mine operated by the Goodnews Bay Mining Company in southwestern Alaska. Much of the collection is contained in a portfolio apparently compiled by Winston W. Spencer, the company's mining engineer. The portfolio also contains information on mineral assessment work performed by Spencer outside the company, at Mascot Gulch, Birch Creek (Ruby District), and the Snowbird Mine, all in Alaska.
